Combating AIDS, Building Leaders

Our AIDS prevention program, Leadership Summit, has started a new term. Our 26 Basotho (national) coaches teach 35 classes a week, with over 2,300 8th and 9th grade students in the program. We believe that leading these young people into thriving relationships with Jesus and teaching God's message of abstinence will help save this next generation from contracting HIV.

We held our first Leadership Day for students to learn more about Godly leadership qualities.
The school principals handpicked almost 200 students to attend - students they consider to be high-capacity leaders.
Pastor Niel taught an interactive lesson on what it means to be a leader and to follow the greatest leader, Jesus. The students learned the importance of impacting people positively, for the effects of negative influence can be life-shattering. Many students made commitments to follow Christ!

Kids Had to Say

"I learned that I have potential
and I am a leader."

"I’m no longer gonna say 'I can't' because now I know ‘I can!’"

Financial Update

We were overwhelmed with the response we received to the matching gift opportunity. $20,000 came in - which was doubled through the matching gift, making it a total of $40,000! We thank God for those of you who gave something extra during this time!
We appreciate you very much!

We still need $210,000 to cover the building project. You can still give directly towards
this need
.

Interns Teaching

Our interns teach five of our six LaunchPad classes each week. Over the course of the year, relationships have blossomed into much more than just teacher-student. Friendships are strengthened weekly as we continue to teach and be taught by our students - which is the best context for discipleship.

Teaching at LaunchPad continues to be a source of encouragement, challenge, and strength to all of the interns.

"I love teaching LaunchPad! It is the highlight of my week. Although it can be challenging at times, I can't imagine not having the opportunity to pour into our students each week." ~Hannah

"The interesting thing is, as I teach my class principles on spending time daily with Christ, I am learning how to personally apply this to my life, too." ~Ashley

"At the beginning of the year, teaching a classroom full of students seemed so daunting. But through the experience of actually getting up in front of them as their teacher and presenting Bible lessons, my confidence and faith have grown very much!" ~ Joshua
