Launching Leaders

This month we celebrated the graduation of our six LaunchPad classes. Classes included Foundations of Faith, Old Testament Survey, and Love & Relationships.  We honored our 68 graduating students with certificates and a term-end party.  Many students shared testimonies of how the classes have impacted their lives.

"After learning about God's healing power, I went to my sister's house because she was not healthy.
After I told her God could heal her, I prayed for her.
She was immediately better!"

"I learned God's perfect plan for marriage.
I made a commitment to God to abstain until
I get married. I want to remain pure!"

"Jesus has become like a friend to me."

"God has helped me understand His Word, and now
I know how to read the Bible with understanding."

Team Ministry

Team Ministry

Mission Team Pictures

We had two teams from Florida with us in June.
Summit Church
(Orlando) and River City Church (Jacksonville) ministered primarily through relationship evangelism. Summit also helped insulate some of the cabins on our base! Both teams eagerly jumped into their times of ministry in Qwa Qwa. Team members were deeply impacted by the ways God worked in and through them.

Some testimonies from ministry:

"My group met a young man named Justice. He is a 20 year old Believer who has never had any true Christian guidance in his walk. He had so many questions that had never been answered before. He was so grateful to have a group of Christians who he could talk with about his faith, and he soaked up every word we had to say."

"We spent time visiting with an old married couple. The husband, Johannes, had a stroke and could no longer speak. We visited with them for a while and then prayed for Johannes before we left. The next day we visited them again, and Johannes was speaking! God worked a miracle, and we got to see it!"

Welcome to the Family!

We are excited about the newest staff member to join our team. Charlene Garrett joins us as our Outreach Staff Director, Director of Human Resources, and Alece van Rensburg's assistant. We are blessed to have her on our team!

With many teams coming through over the next two months, the Outreach Department received some much-needed extra assistance. Rebecca Ruwe, who has spent the last two summers with us, is back with us, serving as the Outreach Director's assistant until the end of July. We have 7 Outreach Staff who have given up their entire summer to help us facilitate mission teams. We are blessed to have them with us! Marco Jeter, who was an Outreach Staff last year, is back as a Navigator — helping to lead the team of Outreach Staff in ministry and discipleship.

Welcome to the family, everyone!
