Back in April, a fire damaged our eating hall. Since we've been thinking about expanding anyway, we decided to go ahead and take the plunge now. A construction project is currently underway to rebuild the eating hall and attached conference room. We are expanding both to be able to seat 250 people! We've been going through a challenging time financially over the past several months, which has greatly stretched us in our faith. The building project costs $250,000 and our monthly support has been short over $10,000 each month. Please pray with us for a miraculous "window-of-heaven outpouring" of finances. The new term of LaunchPad has begun again after winter break. Our team of staff and interns teach six discipleship classes a week. We currently have 250 students - more than double what we had last term! The courses we’re teaching cover the topics of love and relationships, sharing your faith, walking with God consistently, and exploring God's Word through a study of both the Old and New Testament. Our students were thrilled for classes to resume for the term! One student said: "I was so sad over the last few months. I didn't have anything to do - but then I remembered that LaunchPad was starting soon, and I was encouraged. I know God teaches me great truths every week. It's amazing!" |
Earlier in the month we hosted a team from Trinity Evangelical Church (Peterborough, NH). Although they were only with us for a few days, they eagerly jumped right into relationship evangelism. We were blessed by their servant hearts and their desire to see Intabazwe impacted with the Gospel. So many lives have been changed for eternity as a result of our mission teams this year. A witchdoctor gave his life to Jesus and burned all his witchcraft supplies. An arthritic cripple received healing and ran through the streets celebrating. An elderly woman experienced peace and joy for the first time after giving her life to Christ. Those lives will never be the same. There are countless others whose faces, names, and stories are all now recorded in the Book of Life - all because people heeded the call to "Go". Want to bring out a team next year? The interns spent the first three days of the month on a retreat at a game reserve. It was a relaxing time of seeing hippos, swimming in a very warm pool, and enjoying worship and teaching sessions. The interns were challenged to seek God wholeheartedly, and reminded that the effort they put into disciplining themselves now will determine their fervor upon leaving the internship. It seemed to be the perfect time to refocus so that they can make the most of their time left here. The interns are enthralled to be teaching LaunchPad again this term. Many have expressed how wonderful it is to see their students again, bringing their friends with them. There is a sense of continuity and genuine relationship-building. "I'm teaching an in-depth study about the Old Testament. To be honest, I know very little about the Old Testament, but that is what excites me the most. I am learning right alongside my students. It is such an honor to be in this position, teaching my students about how God's redemptive plan is intertwined throughout all of the books of the Old Testament." -Becca Do you want to find out more about interning with us next year?
