Next Step

Before our Next Step interns headed home at the beginning of August they decided to pull their resources with a missions team from Lifechurch.tv in order to buy nearly 70 children, at two care facilities that we partner with, a new pair of shoes.

They raised enough funds to also purchase warm winter blankets and toys for each of the 59 orphans at Leratong Children's Home in Qwa Qwa. The children were overwhelmed with their gifts and with the personalized and handmade cards that were created for each one of them.

"Being here strengthened my heart and calling to heal the nations with His love and He has used this experience to equip me with tools to do just that." -Micaela DeGruy

"The Next Step Internship has been an amazing experience. I loved the mixture of training, work on base, and actual ministry. The whole experience gave me a better idea of what it looks like to be a missionary." -Christine Gamble

"I learned that God is so much bigger and mightier than the box I had put Him in. That God is going to do amazing things in and through me if I let Him." -Derek Chu

Steps of Faith in LaunchPad

LaunchPad

LaunchPad resumed in August in accordance with the school calendar and it has been an amazing first few weeks back out in the villages doing discipleship, with 14 people coming into a relationship with Jesus! Some are new students who heard about LaunchPad through promotional assemblies in the public schools and others are students who've been a part of LaunchPad throughout the year but are taking their first steps of faith. We are so looking forward to the privilege of discipling these new believers and being used by God to welcome them into our spiritual family!

New Term Kicks Off

  Leadership Summit

Leadership Summit has kicked off a new term, with 3,483 students attending the first class! In upcoming weeks, our coaches will be teaching about some challenging topics as part of our Break the Silence curriculum. Join us in praying that the students would have receptive hearts and that their lives would be changed by the truth and love of God.

One of our coaches, Lettia, had this to say at the start of the new term:

"We are really impacting the students- [a student said to me] ‘Now I can see that involving myself in sex, drugs, and other bad things can destroy my life. I want to go to the university and if I involve myself in these things now I won't be able to do that.'"
